On December 19-21, the 2023 China Automotive Charging and Swapping Ecological Conference was held in Hangzhou, China. Tong Zongqi, Deputy Secretary General of the Charging and Exchange Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, stated during the meeting that in the future, charging infrastructure should also exhibit differentiated development, and charging station scenarios for private cars should be more refined, such as differentiated management of charging station charging service fees with different power rates.
Tong Zongqi stated that in the past two years, new energy charging piles have shown a rapid growth trend. The increment in the first 11 months of this year has far exceeded that of last year, and it is expected to show a growth rate of over 30% to 50% compared to last year. In the process of rapid growth, charging infrastructure is increasingly divided into scenarios, such as community charging, destination charging, public charging, and rural charging. With the subdivision of charging scenarios, the charging needs, charging technologies, and modes vary among different vehicle models and scenarios.
At present, the pain points of pure electric vehicle charging for car owners include lack of interoperability between charging platforms, incomplete charging APP functions, and incomplete coverage of cross city charging platforms; Public charging stations have issues such as occupied charging spaces and charging station malfunctions. In Tong Zongqi's view, the charging market has a huge potential, especially with the number of new energy vehicles expected to exceed 20 million by the end of the year. At this time, how to solve the charging problem of cars, especially private cars, is urgent, whether it is from the development of cars or piles.
